[ When the feed clicks on a blond and very athletic young woman takes up most of the picture, one corner of her lip a little twisted while she tries to explain her feelings. ]

Do you guys always get these kind of strange vibes in this place, or is it just me and the fact that it's my first day. [ Clearly she fails at explaining this. But she's here, and she doesn't plan on leaving in the near future, so she's just going to have to suck it up.

Her smile is more forced, but she's not exactly disappointed or upset though. ]

Hello. [ She begins with a small wave. ] My name's Cassie, I'm a new warden. Uh... Wow, this almost feels like being in school again. [ Getting ready to say stuff about herself most people won't care about or remember. ]

Before coming here I lived in San Fransisco and work usually kept me pretty busy. [ If anyone recognizes her red shirt emblazoned with two "Ws" they might know who she is, and even if they don't, they may recognize it as Wonder Woman's symbol. ] I like archaeology, the color red, pizza, and being a warrior, among other things. And despite these strange vibes, which I'm sure will go away anyway, I am happy to be here. It's new and something different, not really what I'm used to, but I'm sure my time here will be memorable nonetheless.

[ Yes. ] All the important stuff, I'm sure.

So what's your opinion on this Superboy? [ Not that she will brush off what Steph and Dick have told her, it's just that Tim can understand her feelings better than anyone when it comes to Conner, his clones, or alternate versions. ]

He's not Conner. His background is similar, but the differences are there, and--

[He pauses, because he's been struggling with his feels on this Superboy too.]

He's an inmate. I don't think for very long, but he's an inmate.

Did he tell you why he's an inmate? [ She is assuming yes. ]

Cadmus didn't create him - I'm not even sure if Cadmus exists in his universe - but a similar group called NOWHERE did. I'm looking into his genetic background. [I.e., he doesn't know if Superboy's a partial Luthor clone too, but he's checking it out.]

It sounds like NOWHERE is pretty set on taking down teenaged, super powered threats, and he was going to be their weapon against people like-- [He almost said us, but it's just. Still so strange.] --the Teen Titans in his world.

[ Cassie's not sure she likes that idea, but she's not saying anything about it. ]

Did he decide not to kill his world's Teen Titans before or after coming here?

Before. He said that he thought, in another life, he could have been friends with them. It's like - [He hesitates for a second, then shakes his head.] Never mind, it's dumb.

Don't tell me never mind. You can't just start saying something and not finish. [ Sure he can, she just doesn't want to let him. ]

[His mouth quirks at the side; he missed having Cassie around.]

It's like he's learning how to be Conner.

Hmph. [ She responds with arms folded over his chest. ] Has he been asking a lot of questions? I thought he didn't like to make the comparison.

He doesn't, and I don't mean he's doing it intentionally. But it's like he could be Conner - or a very close variation, as multiversal theory goes.

[ Cassie knows what Tim's going to say before he says it, and childish as it may be, she still doesn't want to hear it. ]

And that's all he'll ever be, a close variation. [ But she knows Tim's not suggesting this Superboy as a replacement for Conner, so she tones down the attitude and starts again a little apologetically to. ]

Considering the innumerable alternatives, I'm glad he's more like Conner. [ Cassie's not sure she could accept Prime as an inmate, in fact, she's thinking she would have reason enough not to be here if that were the case. ]

But I say it's time for a subject change. Meet me in the dining hall? I feel like I could eat a horse.

[He considers pointing out that he didn't mean Superboy would - or could - be a replacement, but the change in her tone changes his mind, and he decides to let it all go, for now. She's got just being here to adjust to in addition to this. At least he's had time.]

I'll be there in a couple minutes. [Seconds, really, it's right down the hall, but, you know.]

[ Considering Dick's words about keeping what they do a secret, Cassie takes a few minutes to show up after she decides to throw on a different sweatshirt.

When she spots Tim, her smile is irrepressible, stretching from ear to ear, when she throws her arms around him with an embrace powerful enough to knock him over. Thankfully her arms are around him. Cassie doesn't care that she saw him recently, Tim's been on the Barge for two and half years. ]

You look good, Tim. [ Cassie pulls away from the hug, letting her hands linger over his forearms before dropping them. ] I'm really glad you're here. [ Out of every surprise today, Tim is by far the best. ]

[He grunts at the hug - because a hug from a Wonder Girl is never a light thing - but he returns it easily, arms wrapped around her. He's made his periodic trips home, but it's been much longer for him, and he's definitely, definitely missed her.

When she pulls back, he's smiling, and drops his arms when she lets them go.] You too. It feels like I haven't seen you in - well. A while.

So we're short on horse, but we've got sandwich making around here down to an art, if you want something.

A sandwich sounds great. [ Or three maybe.

Cassie doesn't waste anytime getting a plate and standing in line. ]

Now I really do feel like I'm back in high school. [ It's a pretty nice dining hall though, all things considered. ]

[He'll get an extra one for her. And it won't even be his 'Tim has ridiculous eating habits and gets rabbit food' fare.]

It does have its moments. Slightly less hormonal drama, though. Which is nice. [But seriously, only slightly, it's totally an adult high school with psychopaths.]

So what else can I explain about this place? What have you been told so far?

Thanks. [ He's such a gentleman. Cassie quirks an eyebrow in response to his comment on the hormonal drama and smiles, shaking her head slightly. Nope, she has zero room to talk. ]

Dick explained most of it, and a nice girl named Claire filled in some of the blanks. Unless you've got any information what the next flood or breach is going to be like, I'm just going to have to wait to be surprised. [ Grumble, grumble. ]

Thinking I'm a cowboy? That doesn't sound so bad. Switching bodies with someone on the other hand? No thank you. [ She shivers just thinking about it. ] I shouldn't complain though, you've had two and half years of floods and breaches, and yet, here you are. I don't know how you do it. [ Walking away from this job seems like it would be cake, compared to leaving their true careers behind. ]

[Ah, Claire. He's still so uncertain of Claire, but not enough to try and warn Cassie off. She'll make her own judgments. He smiles a little wryly and he puts together his own meal.]

I've been a girl, a pixie, I've been forced to sing my feelings, I've been a kid...[He isn't going to list the particularly bad ones. He doesn't want to tell her about the time he was his future self, complete with Batsuit and gun. No, the less she knows about the worst experiences he's had here, the better.]

Most of the floods are ridiculous. Some of them really suck. Honestly, I think the ports are more dangerous. We don't always get information before they happen, and sometimes they're nothing like they were advertised as.

[ Tim's specific list makes her wonder how much worse things have been. She fully expects him to leave out the gorier details of the more devastating floods and breaches, whatever they may be, but doesn't press him for more details, respecting the fact that he might not want to say anymore. ]

But we don't have to leave the ship, right? [ That is what Dick said. Still, if the ports are dangerous, she has to assume that people like her and Tim would be needed. ] What kind of danger are we talking about anyway? [ It is optimism that makes her ask a question with no one sure answer. ]

Usually, no, we get the choice. But not always. [He tilts his head back in thought and exhales slowly, filling two glasses of water for them before turning toward a table.]

We went into a radioactive zone, once. A haunted house where the wardens were imprisoned. Jurassic park. There was one I stayed on board for where repossessing organs was a thing. A lot of people fell overboard for that, became integrated into the world. [And he's glad he avoided it, but he still feels guilty that he wasn't there to help. :\]

[ Ports are worse. She won't be forgetting that as long as she remembers Tim mentioning a place where organs are repossessed.

Sitting down Cassie takes a long drink from her glass of water. ] The Barge seriously has some major flaws, but it feels right being here, y'know. [ She nods, convincing herself more of the validity of that statement. ] I think it'll be a good thing. [ Maybe this is just a feel all new wardens get in the beginning. ]

[That gets a wry smile as he starts in on his sandwich.]

It does, [he agrees, because with how long he's been here, there's really no other explanation.] And it's worth it. Not just for the deal, I mean - seeing people graduate.

[ That's somewhat of a relief to hear. Maybe before now she just assumed there had only be a few graduations. ]

I've met a few interesting people on the ship too. Did you know King Arthur is here? What a trip... [ Of course, Tim probably did know. ] I mean, he's not the first guy you expect to meet. [ Why is she still talking about this? ]

[Because she's new, and it's normal to be kind of blown away by this. He's smiling, at least, so that must be a good sign, right.] Yeah. Merlin, too. And Morgana. [And now he's ticking things off on his fingers.] There's Captain Kirk, Doctor McCoy, Leia and Han Solo used to be here, along with some serious literary figures. It's kind of a blast, though...I try not to point out that I know them.

[Because finding out his life is in a comic book was a nightmare. :|]

[ There's a couple she's not familiar with, but the ones she is more than make up for it. ]

I can't believe I missed Han Solo. [ She says before taking a pitiful bite out of his sandwich. ] Yeah, I figured as much when I was talking to Prince Arthur. [ She may like saying that a little too much. ] The way he talks. It's almost unreal. [ But oh so charming, in that way that makes it obvious how handsome she thinks he is.

But moving on. ] How many inmates have you worked with, like, one on one?
