Oh gods! [ INSERT GAGGING. ] I can't get this cigarette taste out of my mouth. [ A mouth which is at the moment foaming a little at the corners with toothpaste. And she's back to brushing her teeth, then spitting, followed by more frantic brushing, one last spit, and finally a rinse. ]

Help? [ Cassie who has never before this breach smoked a cigarette in her life is for lack of a better word disgusted with herself. ] Not all the Febreze in the world is going to help, and apparently neither is a shower. [ She picks up a clump of blonde hair and sniffs it. ]

EUGH. I swear the smell is still in my hair. [ Actually she kind of wishes it were stuck only in her nose and that there was an easy solution. ]

I'll be in the gym if anyone needs me. It's not like I can wash my hair anymore... [ Grumble, grumble. ]

So what was the difference during the breach? Were you just unaware of the demon presence?

[ She shakes her head. ] I'm sorry. I wish I could wrap my head around this. I mean, I get what your saying, but I don't really. You know?

Don't know. [Probably. Yes. But she gets the feeling that isn't the right answer.]

Part of me wonders if the Admiral does this sort of thing on purpose. [ Maybe... It all seems very deliberate. ]

It sounds better than all of it being an accident or coincidence. I would think he was just as annoyed considering it can make a warden's job more difficult.

Don't know. [She glances out of the corner of her eye, wanting to see if she can make eye contact with Cass.] Kinda liked being your friend.

Yeah...

But it wasn't real. [ In Cassie's defense, she does not sound cold when she says that. ] I guess that's what irks me most about these events, ports, breeches, floods, or whatever. You really lose complete control over yourself, or you have a whole different set of memories. Well, you know. Obviously.

...Yeah. [There's just a little sadness there, as she looks back at the ground. She knows they aren't friends.

[ Cassie touches Willow's shoulder lightly and very tentatively. ] Sorry. It's just that... [ What does she even say? ]

I don't know. I always feel strange afterward... I hate waking up from those floods and breaches, you know? [ She'll just say the same thing awkwardly once more. ]

[She shakes her head, though, frowning.] It was my first flood. [She hadn't been affected by any other ones.]

I guess some people just aren't affected the same.

I know a few people who that happened to and fortunately I was not one of them. I did lose the ability to fly for a short period though.
